Website analytics (Pirsch)

This website uses Pirsch Analytics to count visits and understand which content is read. Pirsch is a privacy-friendly analytics service operated by Emvi Software GmbH in Germany, with data stored on servers in the European Union.

  • No cookies are set and nothing is stored on your device for analytics.
  • Your IP address is not stored. To count unique visitors, Pirsch creates a fingerprint by hashing your IP address, user agent, the date and a random salt. The salt changes every day, so visitors cannot be tracked across days or across websites.
  • Data collected: the page visited, referrer, browser, operating system, device type, screen size, language and country (derived from the IP address, which is then discarded).
  • The data is only used in aggregated form. It is not shared with third parties and not used for advertising or profiling.

Legal basis: legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) in understanding how the website is used and improving its content. You can object to this processing at any time; blocking the script api.pirsch.io in your browser also prevents any analytics data from being sent.

Local storage

If you switch between light and dark mode, your choice is saved in your browser’s local storage (bb-theme). This value never leaves your device and is not used for tracking.
